There are various products available that are designed to help relieve sleep apnea sufferers such as antisnoring pillows strapped to the sleeper’s head so they cannot roll onto their back, as well as special visco elastic memory foam products can be utilized in order to help relieve sleep apnea symptoms and snoring. Other options include oral appliances that can be put in before going to bed as well as surgeries such as a uvulopalatoplasty, in which the uvula hanging from the back of the mouth is literally removed completely in order to provide more air passage and less obstruction. Also, the air passageway that runs through the throat can also be surgically enlarged through a process called uvulopalatopharyngoplasty.
