Compare Memory Foam VS. Magnetic Therapy Mattresses Basics of Magnetic Visco Foam Mattresses vs. Memory Foam Mattresses
In addition to regular memory foam mattresses and more, there are additional elements memory foam mattress users can add on top of their mattress. One of these is a magnetic visco foam mattress pad.
The visco foam magnetic mattress pad consists of a layer of visco memory foam which holds several South Pole feed magnetic discs, pointing upward towards the magnetic memory foam pad surface, glued into the valleys of convoluted finger foam all embedded in the layer. These magnets are said to project a pure North Pole energy/negative magnetic field sixteen inches above the bed surface.
Below all of this, a bottom layer consists of more padding using such materials as polyester so the person cannot feel the one inch magnets as they lie down. The difference is that, unlike memory foam mattresses most of these types of magnetic memory foam products only come in the form of mattress pads to be placed on another mattress of choice.
Memory foam mattresses provide multiple layers of visco elastic memory foam with no additional items glued inside. Other concepts we have found are where some companies will actually place larger ‘block’ magnets underneath the entire mattress itself.
Benefits of Magnetic Visco Foam Pads vs. Memory Foam Sleep Systems
There are many suggested benefits of magnetic visco foam mattress pads; however, one must note that many of these magnetic mattresses claims have not received much valid scientific evidence to back their suggested therapeutic qualities.
Some of the benefits claimed by magnetic memory foam mattress pad manufacturers include increased circulation, moderate back pain relief, improved quality of sleep, and fibromyalgia relief.
The increase in circulation due to the benefits of magnets in the memory foam mattress pad helps reduce inflammation that causes stiffness and discomfort in the damaged areas of the body.
Through blind magnetic memory foam mattress pad studies conducted overseas on over 430 individuals not knowing which mattress pad they had, the magnetic memory foam mattress pads proved effective on neck pain, shoulder pain, and lower limb pain. In addition, while the FDA has not yet sanctioned magnetic memory foam mattress pads as healing devices, the magnetic viscofoam mattress pad studies have claimed insomnia, fatigue relief and some even claim that magnetic memory foam pads even help their headaches.
The magnetic memoryfoam mattress pads are also believed to have no side effects.
The benefits offered by visco elastic memory foam mattresses are the same as those offered by magnetic memory foam mattress pads, however, one would have to question what the memory foam in the pads consists of as well.
Also, the separate temperature sensitive visco foam layers in a memory foam mattress provide the extraordinary contouring, firmness and comfort one experiences when on a visco elastic memory foam bed. While theoretically, the magnets sound intriguing as the ‘invisible wonder’ and so on, there is plenty of factual evidence that proves that memory foam mattresses provide the same relief that can be experienced by a magnetic mattress pad only as a much more complete visco foam sleep system.
Please note: Magnetic mattress pads should not be used by those using pacemakers or other devices which may be altered by the magnets in the magnetic visco foam mattress pad.
The Basics of Memory Foam Mattresses
Not all memory foam mattresses are the same. There several different ways manufacturers produce memory foam mattresses. In general, most memory foam sleep systems consist of a viscoelastic or memory foam layer of body weight and body temperature sensitive pressure relieving visco elastic memory foam material for comfort. This visco memory foam material consists of thousands of tiny memory foam cells which adjust and expand in response to pressure being added and relieved by body weight. This visco memory foam material is five times denser than standard foam.
Support Layer or Core:
Beneath the memoryfoam layer is an orthopedic support layer or core. The support core in most high quality memory foam mattress layers usually consists of either 100% natural latex, Talalay latex or blended latex in most high-quality memory foam mattresses, or polyurethane. The core layer in memory foam mattresses provides the much needed pressure point relief, which causes discomfort, as well as back support.
Benefits of Visco Elastic Memory Foam Mattresses:
Better Sleep Position from the cradling visco elastic memory foam. Better for Spine Alignment through neutral position reinforced by the contouring memory foam.
No more sagging mattresses as compared to spring mattresses, as high quality visco memory foam mattresses consist of high density visco elastic foam.
Naturally resistant to dust mites and other microorganisms due to the materials the memory foam mattress is made of.
Many higher-quality memory foam mattresses made from all-natural materials such as latex.
Modern sleep technology developed by NASA to help redistribute g-force pressure from liftoff.
Temperature-sensitive material which softens as it heats up against your body. Air-exchange systems which allow for prevention of an uncomfortably hot mattress. Designed for astronauts, Affordable for everyone.
